Additional Holi special trains to run to manage festive rush, says SER

In view of the additional passenger rush during the Holi festival, the South Eastern Railway has announced special train services between Shalimar railway station and Visakhapatnam railway station, as well as between Shalimar and Charlapalli railway station. The move aims to ease congestion and accommodate the surge in festive travel demand.

Train No. 08508 Visakhapatnam–Shalimar Holi Special will depart from Visakhapatnam at 11:20 a.m. every Wednesday from March 3 to March 17, 2026, reaching Shalimar at 3:00 a.m. the following day. In the return direction, Train No. 08507 Shalimar–Visakhapatnam Holi Special will leave Shalimar at 5:00 p.m. every Tuesday from March 4 to March 18, 2026, and arrive in Visakhapatnam at 8:50 p.m. the next day.

Similarly, special services will operate between Shalimar and Charlapalli. Train No. 07512 Charlapalli–Shalimar Holi Special will depart from Charlapalli at 5:40 a.m. on February 26, March 1 and March 5, 2026, and reach Shalimar at 11:20 a.m. the following day.

Train No. 07513 Shalimar–Charlapalli Holi Special will leave Shalimar at 12:45 p.m. on February 27, March 2 and March 6, 2026, and is scheduled to arrive at Charlapalli at 9:50 p.m. the next day, offering additional connectivity during the festive period.

All these Holi Special trains will halt at Santragachi Junction railway station, Kharagpur Junction railway station and Balasore railway station within the South Eastern Railway jurisdiction, ensuring convenience for passengers along the route.
